Okay, this is where we can all discuss the Comedy Festival and the Gala. Anyone here got the "Highlights" DVD? Is it any good?

I remember a line from the 2007 Gala, but not who said it. It's something like:

"Do I not sound like a pussycat purring?"
"No, dear, you sound like a cat drowning in porridge."

MAS

Can anyone name the comedian?

I do, and I love it, of course.

Tim is the last performance on the last disk...if I'm feeling particularly lazy on a night I'll line the disks up in my DVD player, and it's nice to finish with Canvas Bags Very Happy . One day I will ask Tim why he chose that particular performance to up the ante on eyeliner...

*ante.

Sorry, sorry! Must perfect grammar! See, "upping the ante" comes from poker, where an amount is put in the pot first before any cards are dealt. It's like a blind, but everyone pays it. The ante. =)

Okay, I also have the Best Of DVD, and when my friends' birthdays come around I copy all their fave comedians from it onto a DVD for them. =D
The last one wasn't that great I don't think... Hopefully the Galas will be better in future years. =) I still like it though, especially with Timmy. =D

Ah thank you, I never knew where 'ante' came from. Clearly I am not into casino games.

(By the way, your post now looks rather strange Razz . The blessings of post editing.)

Yes, I've noticed how people tend to edit their posts after other people point out errors... It confuses me no end.

Yeah, the Gala DVD's are pretty awesome! There are some classic performances on there, some not great ones too. but overall I think it was a worthwhile purchase, despite already having TV rips of the full shows from like the last 6 years.

Somebody's probably already said this, but is there much of Tim on the DVD?
